First day of the new job went fine, I've got a stinking cold though which doesn't help.
Now that I don't have a company car (or any road-worthy car at all) I'm relying on Public Transport for the first time in over 15 years. There is a good bus service between Bicester and MK and I'm using it from now on.
This morning I totally buggered it up though. I knew the bus left town at 7.35, so I set out on the walk to town at about 7am. I don't own a watch or a phone at the moment, so I found it hard to keep track of time, I think I arrived at the bus stop around 7.25. After standing for a few minutes the X5 arrived and I jumped on, bought a weekly pass and took my seat. Soon after the bus departed I realised that I'd got on a bus to Oxford, rather than MK. I got off at next stop and walked back to the original stop in time to see my bus leave...
These buses are supposed to run every 30 minutes, the 8.05 and 8.35 didn't arrive though, I was bloody freezing!
The good news is that it's cheaper than I expected.
