I think last night can probably be described as "character building"! It was a bit too wet for camping (at least camping for fun) but I have a mission here and it's going to take more than a spot of inclement weather to make me give up, it's the Dunkirk Spirit you know!

I arrived at the site at around 6.45pm during some driving rain, I waited for a while and it turned to a light drizzle, I went for a speedy erection (!). As soon as I got the tent out it started to hammer down again so I just continued working as quickly as I could.

It didn't stop raining all evening and I never really got to dry out. It wasn't too bad though, tent didn't leak and I cooked dinner in the porch (didn't help with the condensation), I caught up on some of my Podcasty listening and went to bed around 10.30 ish.

This morning it was still a bit rainy and very muddy, I cooked some breakfast and packed the car ready to move it off the grass and down towards the shower block (I normally park outside so I can have a quick shower, get changed into work clothes and head to the office), tried to start the car and it was completely dead... arse.

Thinking back... I had the radio on when I was packing the tent away and I think I put the ignition on by mistake, this also put the heated windscreen etc on and I think that's what flattened the battery. I think the battery should have lasted a bit longer but it's no use crying over spilt milk...

Had to call the RAC out to jump start it, got to the office at 09:10 instead of 07:45 as planned!
Going home tonight and then back up here for another night on Thursday.
