As a rule I'm pretty poor at getting myself to live music events, in fact I think the last time I went to a venue specifically to see the band(s) was the 1995 Monsters of Rock Festival at Donnington (it's called Download now I think).
Part of the problem is that I have trouble deciding exactly which genre of music I'm into most which, as you can imagine, makes it difficult to choose a band/artist/whatever to go and see. In an ideal world I'd see loads of gigs, seeing great ones as a result of the quantity, that would call for lots of money and lots of time and I don't have a whole lot of either.
The whole point of this post (and there is one somewhere) is that I'm thinking of getting myself a ticket to see
Regina Spektor at the
Zodiac on 16th February. The thing that might seem odd is that I've only every heard one of her songs, Chemo Limo from her album
Soviet Kitsch, but I really love it. If you want to hear it, it's used on this
video from
Soccergirl on the bit where she's in the kids park - (This video contains a topless laydee - this isn't a warning, it's a
recommendation)
