Poor memory almost got me in to a lot of trouble tonight.

I went to a family gathering this afternoon to celebrate a couple of birthdays, we were there from 3pm until about 6.30pm and had a meal and some wine (Clare was driving). 4 hours later I need some sellotape to wrap presents, so I jump in the car and head off on a mission to find some.

luckily I had driven all of about 100yds before I remembered that I had been drinking earlier on in the day and parked the car.

I don't do drinking and driving so this was something of a close call for me. The trouble is that all the effects of the alcohol have worn off and I feel normal, but in all probability I'd still be over the limit now after drinking what was probably a whole bottle of red wine earlier.

I'm sure there is a calculation that would tell me for sure if I was over the legal limit in terms of blood-alcohol level but that's not really the point.
