Up early this morning to start work on Clare's car, flat battery isn't a problem as a good charge should sort that out but a bigger problem is a large leak of brake fluid that has emptied the reservoir and resulted in almost no brakes.
The culprit was a knackered rear cylinder (drums at the back). I took it all to bits, gave it a good clean up and a wire brushing to get the fluid off the shoes and then replaced the cylinder with a new one. Not a technically complicated job but really fiddly at times. All put back together, system bled and brakes are now perfect.
I really enjoyed myself today, getting my hands dirty and physically fixing something that was broken is a great contrast to my day job where the results are bigger but somehow less tangible.
