I've started to stay overnight one night each week when I'm working at my employers office in the North West (well, almost the North West...), I would probably do more nights but Clare works some evenings and besides, I quite like being at home these days.
I do like being able to stay in the office until I've finished what I'm doing (or have had enough of it) rather than trying to get home for a certain time, or trying to pick the best time to get through 130 miles of traffic.
One of the other good points are the different places I seem to stay in, the rooms get booked by the receptionist and if you leave it late the main hotels are all booked. Last time I stayed up there I got a room in converted stables behind an old Inn (unlike Mary and Joseph) in the Cheshire countryside. Not normally my thing (give me a Travel Inn and I'll be happy) but I quite liked this place. Good food, proper beer and friendly staff are all good things but there was also a meeting of a local auto club at the time and the carpark was full of Sevens and 911's... Good times!
If you're ever in the area it was the Swan Inn in
