What a weekend!
Amsterdam was great, from start to finish the whole weekend was just perfect and much needed after the last few months (or indeed years).
Work has been very busy recently and it will remain so for at least the next few weeks, you might have noticed the project in the papers recently (
here for example) it's the culmination of the last two-and-a-bit years of my working life and, so far, things are going to plan. It's a 24/7 operation until the end of the week after that I'm not entirely sure what to expect (a rest would be good though).
So, back to the Stag Weekend Shenanigans...
We were a party of nine in total, spread over two hotel rooms in The City Hotel (surprisingly we had a room for two occupants and a room for seven occupants) the hotel was just right, cheap and cheerful but also quite laid back (they had to be really, we weren't the only Stag Party in residence...). One of the highlights of the weekend was Saturday Night in
Boom Chicago's, I'm a big Comedy Club fan and I can tell you that this was one of the best. One thing out of the ordinary was the 70's themed "fancy dress" all nine of us had on (and we are talking proper hired outfits here...), now you might think that strolling through a crowded City centre and then onto a Comedy Club dressed (in my case) in a huge Afro, large Moustache, massive Flares and medallions is offering yourself up for some serious ridicule but the crowds seemed pretty impressed!
Another highlight (for entirely different reasons) has to be
Teasers Bar, it's pricey but the service really stands out...
