I used the
M6 Toll Road for the first time yesterday (twice actually), I'm really impressed with it because for my outlay of £4 I saved at least 2 hours of my own time which I would have spent stuck in traffic. There are plenty of people whinging about it, saying that they pay enough tax for it to be free, but that isn't really the point. There is a perfectly good Motorway for you to use (a little crowded maybe) but if you are willing to pay a premium you can miss the busy section. I won't use it all the time; I don't mind being stuck in traffic on the way
to work when it is someone else's time, but I don't want to spend my evenings stuck in a queue when I could be at home.
Toll roads are not the enemy, the biggest enemy is the crap (and bloody expensive) public transport system in this country and then the fuel prices.
