I wanted a convertible for ages, finally got myself a nice VW Golf Cabriolet (Well, as a company car...) and then realised that I felt like a complete Twat every time I took the roof down!
Some people (like me!) just shouldn't put themselves on display in that way, Cabriolets are for young, attractive, blonde females. Period.
