Busy times at home recently. This week Clare has started working the evening shift at a local warehouse to get us some extra cash, the shift is 6pm until 10pm. I try to get home from work by 5.30pm (my hours are fairly flexible) so that Clare can leave at 5.35pm, I then entertain Georgia until she goes to bed at around 8.30pm. When Georgia goes to bed I try and get the washing-up and stuff done before Clare gets back at 10.30pm.
It's unfortunate that we have to work in this way, Clare and I only see each other for about an hour each day. Neither of us wanted Clare to go back to work full-time while Georgia is young as that would involve having to use a nursery or childminder etc. We both prefer Georgia to be looked after by one (or both in an ideal world) of her parents, rather than strangers. We just have to put up with the weeks being full until Georgia goes to school or nursery when she is older, or I get a fairly substantial pay rise which is well overdue (in my opinion!)
