It's our 8th wedding anniversary today, to celebrate this fact I took the car to be serviced and then spent all day alone in Oxford with just my mountain bike for company.
We had planned to drop the car off together and then go into town and "do something", but fears of the car not being ready by school-picky-up time scuppered that. It was a wise decision because they didn't finish the service until 5.30.
So, I cycled into town from Kidlington and had a look around Angel and Greyhound Meadow, then a ride through town and down the Thames path to Iffley. Back up to town, up the Thames to Osney, and then back into town again (alright, I was getting a bit bored).
I spent a good hour sat on one of the benches on Magdalen bridge watching the world go by. It's unusual for a chap to be sat there without a can of Tennants Super on the go, but I haven't shaved for a while and my clothes didn't really fit me, so I think I pulled it off OK.
The ride back to Kidlington sapped the rest of the energy I had, so I think it will be an early night tonight or maybe I'll open a bottle of red and have a bath (in water, not wine). Tomorrow I'll be back in work... I must book some time off.
